We are scheduling a weekend flu clinic, please call the office to schedule a Saturday or Sunday appointment.
Getting an annual flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations. The more people who get vaccinated, the more people will be protected from flu, including older people, very young children, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions who are more vulnerable to serious flu complications.
What viruses will the 2017-2018 flu vaccines protect against?
There are many flu viruses and they are constantly changing. The composition of U.S. flu vaccines is reviewed annually and updated to match circulating flu viruses. Flu vaccines protect against the three or four viruses that research suggests will be most common. For 2017-2018, three-component vaccines are recommended to contain:
- an A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
- an A/Hong Kong/4801/2014 (H3N2)-like virus
- a B/Brisbane/60/2008-like (B/Victoria lineage) virus
Four-component vaccines, which protect against a second lineage of B viruses, are recommended to be produced using the same viruses recommended for the trivalent vaccines, as well as a B/Phuket/3073/2013-like (B/Yamagata lineage) virus.

Dr. Stephen Rosenbaum retired!
Important Announcement Pediatrician Staff Change!
It saddens us to announce the retirement of Dr. Stephen Rosenbaum. His last working day will be December 13th 2016.
Dr. Rosenbaum has been an integral part of our company for over 15 years, his contributions will always be valued and remembered. His hard work, commitment, and dedication are worthy of admiration. Dr. Rosenbaum will be greatly missed. Filling his shoes will be an almost impossible task.
Please welcome Dr. Jody Ullom to our San Francisco location. Dr Ullom will work mainly in the SF office as of December, 14th 2016. Dr Ullom will take over for Dr. Stephen Rosenbaum who retired.
Dr. Ullom was born and raised in Minnesota. Dr. Ullom traveled to Oregon for her undergraduate training in Chemistry. Toward the end of her studies she realized she had a passion for science, but really enjoyed working with people. So, it was a natural extension for her to pursue medical training.
After finishing medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University, Dr. Ullom began her pediatric residency at Stanford. Dr. Ullom always spent her free weekends hiking on Mt. Tam near Mill Valley. So, on one of these hiking trips, she went through open houses and ended up buying her current house in Mill Valley in 1994.
After completing pediatric residency, Dr. Ullom was a substitute doctor for a variety of practices. It was a wonderful learning experience.
Dr. Ullom has worked in the East Bay area for over 15 years as a pediatrician.
Dr. Ullom has always enjoyed parenting issues and gets a lot of on-the-job training with her children. She understands why knowing what the right thing to do with your children and doing it are not always easy. Thus, far her job as a parent has been both her most challenging and most rewarding.
Dr. Ullom’s passions in pediatrics are promoting breastfeeding, nutrition and prevention of obesity, examining the negative effects of electronic media on children, and optimizing preventive care in asthma.
When not at work, she loves going to the library with her kids, reading, gardening, cooking, bike riding and hiking.
Please welcome our newest member of the team!
